As a project, I had to explore lenses, archives and relationships to produce an identity for a non-conformist audience. I had to break down what an identity was and what it could be to really understand the potential of it. I realised I could bring people together to form a collective identity. This was the basis for my project.
I made a collective poetry book. The book uses existing poems from timeless poets as templates of mad libs. People then filled them out as they desired to showcased their individualism. I used these poems to create a collective identity by using trends and analysis of the words chosen. I then designed and bound it, the book contains all poems filled out by my peers.
The cover is lino-print. Each of the three sections is divided by a typographic cut-out of the template poem title.
Above are the community poems for each theme, compiled from all my peer's poems.
These poems use word+rhyme trends to determine words and placements.
